SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 14, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- izmocars, will be showcasing their newest virtual reality offering, izmoVR, for dealerships in the Tech Pavilion at AutoMobility LA, from November 15-18, bringing automotive enthusiasts closer to a powerful VR experience at their local dealership.

Using this new technology, the driver is able to experience the car in a completely immersive manner, and get information about features that are not possible in a traditional demo. For instance, during a test drive, air bags are an unseen, but important, safety feature that can be brought to life within the virtual reality presentation. izmoVR can be used in the showroom, in the service wait area, or as a download from a dealer website, all with the intention of driving the shopper further down the sales funnel.

Virtual reality has exploded in 2016 with over one million hours of video watched on GearVR, according to Facebook, and nearly 1.3 million people subscribed to the YouTube 360 channel, a virtual reality network. In addition, consulting firm Kzero estimates 28 million people could be paying for virtual reality content and hardware by 2018, up from 4.8 million early adopters this year.

"Virtual reality is moving out of the gaming arena and coming into its own as businesses are realizing the enormous impact it can have on the purchasing process," said Tej Soni, CEO of izmocars. "By providing dealerships with a low-cost option for bringing virtual reality into their showrooms and service departments, we're creating another way for dealers to wow visitors and ultimately sell more vehicles without carrying extra inventory."

Bloomberg Intelligence analyst Jitendra Waral furthers virtual reality's draw by saying it will become a core part of the consumer experience for a number of industries in the coming year, including automotive.

izmocars VR platform has been built on its existing capabilities in automotive CGI and interactive media. With studios in Long Beach and Brussels, izmocars is already the largest producer of content for the automotive industry and possesses an unsurpassed catalog of new vehicle models in 3D. Virtual reality is a natural extension of these capabilities, giving izmocars the ability to deliver large scale projects rapidly, and at a lower cost than any other provider.

"This next year we're going to see virtual reality in everything from the sales department, to virtual reality presentations of after-market accessories, service presentations, as a training tool, lead-generation at events, and even as a "virtual lounge" for dealerships in public places beyond showrooms such as malls, airports and hotel lobbies," said Soni. "We're just at the beginning of what this powerful technology can do in automotive, and it's exciting to be at the forefront of the industry both in the US and abroad."
