LOS ANGELES, Nov. 23, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Alcantara®, the Italian-made luxury material, is featured on a variety of new car- and light-truck interiors at this year's Los Angeles International Auto Show (Nov. 18-27).
The newest entry in the luxury SUV market, the Alfa Romeo Stelvio made its world premiere in Los Angeles with an Alcantara headliner, dashboard, steering wheel and seating. Black Alcantara with distinctive red stitching on the upper part of the Stelvios's steering wheel guarantees a perfect grip at any temperature whether on the racetrack or the road. Alfa Romeo's Giulia Quadrifoglio Verde featured black Alcantara seating with red stitching and an Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel as well.
The Porsche Panamera 4 E-Hybrid Executive, also making its world debut in Los Angeles, featured a 100 percent carbon-neutral Alcantara headliner. The Italian-made luxury material was showcased on other new Porsche models as well, including the new Panamera, 911 Carrera S, the Macan Turbo and Cayenne S E-Hybrid.
Acura relied on the richness of Alcantara to dress the seats for the debut of its Precision Concept – a stand-alone cockpit featuring innovative telematics. The production version of the 2017 Acura NSX also had Alcantara seating with red stitching for visual impact.
The Dodge brand from FCA made extensive use of Alcantara. A Viper GTS-R was on display with Alcantara seating and door-panels with a distinctive flag motif embossed on Alcantara. The Challenger 392 and Charger Daytona Scat Pack 392 both offered Alcantara seats and a Dodge Daytona had perforated Alcantara seating with a bright silver backing and yellow stitching.
The Maserati Levante and Levante Sport on display in Los Angles each featured Alcantara headliners and interior trim, while the Maserati GranTurismo MC and Ghibli had Alcantara headliners.
Ford Motor Company's Ford and Lincoln brands also made use of Alcantara. Lincoln's new Navigator Concept had an Alcantara headliner and seats dressed in grey Alcantara, putting an emphasis on the brand's commitment to luxury and elegance. Ford's F-150 Lariat model offered Alcantara seating as well.
Other premium brands making extensive use of Alcantara included Jaguar and BMW. Jaguar fitted the interior of its new electric I-PACE with "moonstone" Alcantara, a mélange base enhanced by a laminated black pixel pattern. The Jaguar F-Type used a grey Alcantara on its instrument panel with distinctive blue stitching. The 2017 BMW M2 Coupe had its door panels and brake boot covered with Alcantara. Both the X6 M and M6 Grand Coupe also used Alcantara for their headliners.
In addition, the Audi S6, S8, RS7 and A8 L Limousine 4.0 T Quattro all featured Alcantara trim and the Lexus LC 500 offered red Alcantara seating and door panels on one of its display models.
